Kenzen Robo Daimidaler: Prince vs. Penguin Empire – A Wildly Eclectic Mecha Comedy

Download Kenzen Robo Daimidaler Daimidaler: Prince vs. Penguin Empire

Introduction

Kenzen Robo Daimidaler: Prince vs Penguin Empire is a terrific mix of mecha-action, nonsense and humor. The anime takes the “big robots vs. evil army” formula and turns it on its head with its gruesome plot, hilarious villains, and over-the-top missions. As a result, the cruise ship-like anime will appeal to fans who appreciate tongue-in-cheek drama and serious themes. In this blog, we’ll be sharing the frustrations of Kenzen Robo Daimidaler and why it’s one of the most unique mecha series ever made.

Story

The world is threatened by the Penguin Empire, a group of human penguins with a strange mission – to disrupt human peace using mechas called “robots“. You must not only understand these evils. penguins have their own outrageous designs, as well as famous physical features (yes, their “front tails” are the running game of the series).

To combat the threat of the Penguin Empire, the mysterious organization “Beauty Salon Prince” has invaded with a secret weapon: the powerful mecha Demidal. What is the benefit? Daimidaler can be used only by those who have a high level of “Hi-ERO”, which is an aphrodisiac. Which brings us to the unlikely hero of the series – Koichi Shobashi.

Koichi is a high school student who has a lot of Hi-ERO abilities due to his destructive urges. He was introduced piloting the Demidaller plane and using his special powers to fight against the Penguin Empire. The play tells the story of Koichi’s mad quest to collaborate with the head of a beauty house to promote Daimidaler.

Main Characters

  • Koichi Madanbashi: The protagonist, Koichi, is a teenage boy who has an exceptional amount of Hi-ERO energy due to his lecherous personality. His perverted antics often provide the fuel to operate the Daimidaler, making him the unlikely hero in the fight against the Penguin Empire. Though his motives may seem shallow, he grows more attached to the team and their cause as the series progresses.
  • Kyoko Sonan: A member of Beauty Salon Prince, Kyoko serves as Koichi’s partner. She plays a key role in helping Koichi harness his Hi-ERO energy, despite often being the target of his inappropriate advances. Her determination to stop the Penguin Empire contrasts with her growing acceptance of Koichi’s antics as necessary for the greater good.
  • The Penguin Emperor: The leader of the Penguin Empire, this villain commands the Penguin Robots in his mission to disrupt humanity. His minions share his eccentric humor, often blending ridiculous villainy with comedic mischief.
  • Shoma Amekura: Introduced later in the series, Shoma is another pilot with high Hi-ERO energy, who joins the fight against the Penguin Empire. He’s more serious and reserved compared to Koichi, adding a different dynamic to the team.

Background Information

  • Creator and Studio:
    • Creator: The anime is based on the manga series by Asaki Nakama. The manga’s over-the-top humor and ecchi elements are translated faithfully into the anime.
    • Anime Studio: The animation is produced by TNK, known for other ecchi-heavy series such as “High School DxD.” The studio’s expertise in balancing fan service with action shines through in “Kenzen Robo Daimidaler.”
  • Release Date: The anime premiered in April 2014, as part of the spring anime season.
  • Episodes: The series has 12 episodes, making it a short but intense ride through mecha battles, comedy, and Hi-ERO energy-filled situations.
  • Genre:
    • Mecha: While “Kenzen Robo Daimidaler” is packed with typical mecha battles, the way the genre is handled is unique due to the Hi-ERO energy powering the robot and the absurdity of the fights.
    • Ecchi: The show is heavy on fan service, with many scenes involving suggestive content and comedic sexual innuendos. This is central to the plot, given that Hi-ERO energy drives the narrative.
    • Comedy: Much of the show’s appeal lies in its comedic tone. The bizarre penguin villains and Koichi’s antics keep the atmosphere light, despite the world-threatening stakes.
    • Action: Expect high-energy mecha battles between Daimidaler and the Penguin Robots, though often intertwined with humor and fan service.

Themes in Kenzen Robo Daimidaler

  • Satire of the Mecha Genre: “Kenzen Robo Daimidaler” is a clear parody of traditional mecha series like “Gundam” or “Evangelion.” It takes the usual tropes—heroic pilots, giant robots, and evil invaders—and turns them into absurd, sexually charged scenarios. Fans of the genre will recognize the tropes and laugh at the over-the-top execution.
  • Eroticism and Power: The concept of Hi-ERO energy makes sexuality an integral part of the story. While it’s played for laughs, it also touches on the idea of human desires fueling strength—a theme often found in more serious works but used here for comedic purposes.
  • Good vs. Ridiculous Evil: The Penguin Empire’s schemes are hilariously ridiculous, often involving petty or nonsensical motivations, which contrasts with the more serious tone that mecha series usually adopt. The humor of these villains softens the conflict, making the battle feel more like a comedy skit than a life-or-death struggle.

Visuals and Animation

  • Art Style: The animation blends traditional mecha designs with colorful, exaggerated character expressions that heighten the comedy. The Penguin Empire’s design, in particular, emphasizes the show’s goofy tone, with their humanoid penguin features being both cute and absurd.
  • Action Sequences: The mecha battles are surprisingly well-animated, with Daimidaler’s attacks often resulting in flashy, explosive sequences. However, the real charm lies in how these battles are punctuated by Koichi’s Hi-ERO-powered antics, making the action feel more playful than intense.

Sound and Music

  • Opening and Ending Themes: The opening theme “Kenzen Robo Daimidaler” is a powerful song that sets the stage for what’s to come next in a crazy way. The ending track “Suki Suki // Connection” contrasts the frantic pace with a more laid back vibe.
  • Background Music: The music supports the comedy and action well, the music is good and sometimes plays more during wartime or funny moments. The sound design adds to the ending of the show.
  • Dubbing: The voice actors are very sensitive to the silliness of the series, especially Koichi V.A. The Emperor Penguin and his crew put on a great dance performance that adds to the fun.

Review

“Kenzen Robo Daimidaler” isn’t for everyone. The heavy ecchi content and silly humor make it a great series, but for those who enjoy a high level of fan service and good humor, this anime is pure entertainment. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and knows exactly what it wants to offer: fun mecha battles, awesome villains, and a lot of fun. The show is perfect for viewers who want to relax and have fun without expecting a deep story or complex character development.

For fans of ecchi and mecha parodies, “Kenzen Robo Daimidaler” is a hidden gem. Its playful humor and increasing ridiculousness make it a unique entry in the mecha genre, even if it won’t appeal to more serious anime fans.
