Sword Art Online: Exploring the Virtual and Real Worlds

Sword Art Online (SAO) is a popular Japanese light novel series written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by abec. The story is set in the future and revolves around players navigating through virtual MMORPGs where death in the game means death in real life. Story

The story of Sword Art Online will begin with the release of the MMORPG title in 2022. Thousands of players are eager to join and experience the exciting virtual world of the game, but they know that they cannot leave. The game’s creator, Akihiko Kayaba, says that you must clear all 100 floors of Aincrad, the largest tower in the game, in order to escape. But if you die in the game, you die in real life.
The protagonist is Kirito, an experienced player who joined the beta testing phase of the game. Use your knowledge and experience to survive and win the game. Along the way, he meets Yuki Asuna, a gifted and talented athlete, who becomes his close friend and lover. They face many challenges, including powerful monsters, player killers, and the emotional pain of living in a virtual world where all mistakes are inevitable.


After clearing the game, Kirito and Asuna woke up in the real world, but they weren’t done yet. The series continues with new arcs: “ALO” (Alfheim Online), “GGO” (Gun Gale Online) and “Underworld”, each of which features its own virtual world with its own rules and villains. In these arcs, Kirito and his friends face a variety of enemies, from bad players to evil organizations, and struggle with moral and ethical issues related to technology, virtual reality, and lifestyle.
